I was on a site yesterday using the octo tester. I’d retrofitted a drive and it was tripping the mains as soon as power was applied. I used the tester to quickly test between input/output phases to see if I had any issues. I’d tested the unit before taking it to site so was a bit concerned on what was happening. I quickly realised because of the tester that I had filtering on the drive between phases and earth and it triggered me into thinking about this being the cause. Quickly pulled out the 2 EMC screws on the drive and everything was fine. Being able to visually see this instantly allowed me to figure out what was going on, without it I probably would have taken longer to get to the bottom of the issue. Very glad I had it with me.
